ante este hecho, ya que, el momento posterior a la caída es el punto en el cual las personas requerirían de pronta ayuda y/o atención médica. Técnica y logisticamente este evento suma una serie de complicaciones, tales como;
ABSTRACT:
People that suffer from unintentional falls are constantly at risk of fractures, dislocations, and even broken bone marrow in the instant that they fall. Serious injuries can be caused, injuries which directly depend on the intensity of the fall, the physiology and present age of the person. Upon analysis of the previously
mentioned information, it is clear that patients who present this pathology have high probabilities of falling as they go about their normal routines. The probability considerably increases in people that carry out a wide range of daily activities since the number of trips that they make is larger, such as trips made between the home and the workplace, the workplace and the supermarket, the supermarket and the
home, etc. This high probability makes the risk imminent that an incident will occur.
Accordingly, this work intends to detect unintentional falls. It also attempts to
support patients by monitoring information from their surroundings that can be provided to their families and medical practitioners, the objective being to reduce the lack of information inherent to an unintentional fall, especially since the moment directly following the fall is the point at which people require prompt help and/or
medical attention. Technically and logistically, this event presents a series of complicated factors, such as: knowing the specific location of the person, the user’s level of danger in respect to whether the required help will be given in an adequate amount of time and the affected person’s incapacity of movement. This
current challenge can be counteracted with the help of diverse information and communication technologies. These technologies will be described within the course of this thesis and form part of the principal axis of this work and its proposed solution. This solution enables support of necessities within the present
problems. To that end, this thesis works with the ubiquitous computing paradigm and smart phone technology as a base to develop software that is capable of assisting patients that suffer from this pathology. This project has been developed
from the point of view of a software engineer by means of iterative development methodology with object coupling. The end goal has been to develop a modular architecture and a reusable orientation towards services that possess maximum
cohesion and minimum coupling among software components. Furthermore, a series of reactive control algorithms have been implemented for the intelligent detection of falls. As the development platform, the Android operating system has been used because of its features that are present as much at the level of
technology as in the market for the field of rehabilitation technologies. As the final
device, the smart phone HTC G1 Dream had been used, a mobile which has multisensor hardware that includes: an acceleration sensor and a rotation sensor that were read in order to capture data for processing the falls, locating and positioning hardware like the GPS and compass, and telecommunications hardware like WiFi (LAN) and 3G (WAN) interfaces that establish communication among external services. Upon configuration by the user, the software is capable
of: Recognizing a fall. Notifying the user. Notifying an external server about the
position of the user. Notifying a mobile device about the position of the user. Checking the current position of either the ambulance or other means of help. Videos of the efalls version 0.9 software and more information is available at [15]
Chapter 11 - The development & management of territorial heritage. The recent experience of Argentina
Producción Científica«Identity, culture, heritage and territory are convergent concepts in the sense that their essential constitutive attributes make up the network of meanings that sustain the world of objects and actions […]. This convergence should be interpreted in two complementary ways, oriented towards both the past and the future, acting as static references, or as the driving force of a dynamic that assumes the form of an interested transfer or an ever-renewing creation» (Bustos Cara, 2004: 17).
As Guy Di Meo said, heritage values are defined like the territory, as «time which makes sense and has meaning as if it were history crystallised into an object, place or event. It has two natures, the material and the ideal. It has a mnemonic function. They insert the social fabric into a historical continuity made up of solid cultural references that generate ideological and political control». «How can we understand territory without assigning a heritage value to it?».
«Neither territory nor heritage represent an a priori fact. Yet
every object may have a heritage function and every space may be
transformed into a territory, if one or the other is integrated in a
communicational context» (Di Meo, 1998: 59).
The idea of heritage covers a broad and extremely dynamic
conceptual field, and this is why it is difficult to establish an institutional
management structure that can moderate between conflicts and may
keep its dynamic character in check.
In this sense, there is a close relation between heritage and
territory and between heritage and development, and this relation
is always variable in content, depending on the ideological, political,
economic or cultural context from which it is analysed. In times of the
construction or reconstruction of nation states, or at times when there
is a dominantly liberal or neoliberal vision within the globalisation
framework, then the processes that lead to heritage status and its
institutionalisation have acquired different characteristics and scales. This activities are included in the objectives and results of the Research Project CSO2013-47205-P «Culture and heritage as territorial resources: sustainable development strategies and spatial impacts», from the State Programme to Encourage Scientific Technical Research of Excellence, Sub-programme of the Generation of Knowledge from the Ministry of Economy & Competitiveness, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. (Acetylacetonato)dibromido[2,2-diphenylhydrazin-1-ido(1−)][2,2-diphenylhydrazin-1-ido(2−)]molybdenum(VI)
In the title compound, [MoBr2(C12H11N2)(C12H10N2)(C5H7O2)], the MoVI atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by two N atoms from the diphenylhydrazide(1−) and diphenylhydrazide(2−) ligands, two O atoms from a bidentate acetylacetonate ligand and two Br− ions. The molecules form an inversion dimer via a pair of weak C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and a π–π stacking interaction with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.7401 (12) Å. Weak intramolecular C—H⋯Br interactions and an intramolecular π–π stacking interaction with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.8118 (15) Å are also observed
The modern world takes some few challenges which the law must estimate to respond appropriate to the different current issues. Thus, the following work aims to discuss and reflect on the processes of conflict resolution in our legal system with detention in the new procedure before the Tax and Customs Courts. This, taking into account the particularities found in it and the current status of the other procedures.
The state of optics research in Colombia: a scientometric analysis
Although there is a perception in the community that the state of optics research in Colombia has reached a
mature state with international recognition, to date, there is no study that supports this view quantitatively.
We aimed to assess the state of optics research in Colombia based on international journal publications.
Therefore, we determined scientometric indicators using the research articles published by authors with
Colombian affiliation in journals indexed in the Scopus database belonging to the Atomic and Molecular
Physics and Optics subject category. The research output has increased dramatically in the past two decades,
with an average of 169 articles per year since 2016. Most of these articles are published in high-impact
journals. A little over 10% of that research is in the top 10% most cited in the world. Over 25 higher education
institutions contribute significantly to this research with many international and national collaborations.
The normalized citation impact for Colombian optics research is 0.95, only five points below the world
average, and ranked second in Latin America, only superseded by Chile (1.33). Our results show that optics
research is an established research area in Colombia with high impact and many active groups from different
institutions spread throughout the country
Semianalytical calculation of the zonal-flow oscillation frequency in stellarators
Due to their capability to reduce turbulent transport in magnetized plasmas,
understanding the dynamics of zonal flows is an important problem in the fusion
programme. Since the pioneering work by Rosenbluth and Hinton in axisymmetric
tokamaks, it is known that studying the linear and collisionless relaxation of
zonal flow perturbations gives valuable information and physical insight.
Recently, the problem has been investigated in stellarators and it has been
found that in these devices the relaxation process exhibits a characteristic
feature: a damped oscillation. The frequency of this oscillation might be a
relevant parameter in the regulation of turbulent transport, and therefore its
efficient and accurate calculation is important. Although an analytical
expression can be derived for the frequency, its numerical evaluation is not
simple and has not been exploited systematically so far. Here, a numerical
method for its evaluation is considered, and the results are compared with
those obtained by calculating the frequency from gyrokinetic simulations. This
"semianalytical" approach for the determination of the zonal-flow frequency
reveals accurate and faster than the one based on gyrokinetic simulations.Comment: 30 pages, 14 figure
